Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to a hotel. Half or full day tours are available.

Day 2. Ulaanbaatar - Khentii province - Khukh nuur 215km

After having breakfast, you will be driven to Khukh Nuur, in the Khentii province. You will have lunch and camp in a tourist camp which is located next to Khukh Nuur. Khukh Nuur is known as the place that Temujin was given the title of Chinggis Khaan. Some researchers say Chinggis Khaan may be buried around this area. After lunch you will visit the Lake and explore the Khar Zurkhen Mountain. A historian will give a speech about Chinggis Khaan’s History which is related to this area. You will spend the night at the Bayangol tourist camp. (L/D)

Day 3. Baldan Bereeven - Uglugchiin Kherem - Rashaan had 173km

Early in the morning, you will be driven to the Baldan Bereeven monastery, the Uglugchiin Kherem and the Rock Rashaan. The night will be spent at the camp ‘Chinggisiin Toonot’. (B/L/D)

Day 4. Bayan Adraga - Dadal 117km

After breakfast, we will continue driving to Dadal sum, which is north of Khentii aimag. On the way to Dadal, you will visit the Museum of Queens in Bayan Adraga sum. We will explore Deluun Boldog, the birthplace of Chinggis Khaan. Then we will explore Lake Chinggisiin Gurvan Nuur. A historian will give a speech about Chinggis Khaan’s History near the Chingisiin Gurvan Nuur and visit the Chinggis Khaan Monument. The night will be spent at the camp ‘Gurvan nuur’. (B/L/D)

Day 5. Dadal - Dornod province - Kherlen Bariin tuuri 170km

After breakfast, we will drive to visit Kherlen Bariin Tuuri also known as Ruins of Kherlen Bar. On the way to the ruins, you will visit the Shihihutug’s library and his statue in Norovlin sum. You will meet a nomad family, explore the local wildlife and do some star gazing. The night will be spent in a tent near the ruins. (B/L/D)

Day 6. Kherlen Bariin tuuri - Choibalsan 120 km

After having breakfast we will explore and visit a nomad family. Horse riding is at your own expense. After checking-in to the hotel in Choibalsan, you will start a tour of the city, including the history museum of Dornod, a man made pile of rocks, a walk to Bunhan hill and a walk on Youth’s square. The night will be spent at the local hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 7. Choibalsan - Menengiin tal - Buir nuur 300km

You will be driven to Buir lake where you can explore and view the countless birds that it is home to fishing, swimming and sunbathing are available. It is possible to ride a camel and visit a nomadic family. (B/L/D)

Day 8. Buir nuur - Khalkh Gol sum - Buir nuur 120km

On this morning, you can enjoy the sunrise and have breakfast at the camp. We will drive to Khalkh Gol sum. The area of Khalkhgol sum is famous for its ancient historical sites. For instance, the Battles of Khalkhin Gol statues, the Ikh Burhant complex. You will enjoy the monument of Khalkh Gol victory, the statue of Yakovlevch, the monument of Mongolian border guards, the memorial of 90 warriors, the statue complex of victory and the museum ‘Yalalt or Victory’. Then we will return back to the camp of Buir lake. (B/L/D)

Day 9. Buir nuur - Choibalsan 300km

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Choibalsan city. Today you can enjoy the great steppe of Menen, have some rest and enjoy leisure time. The night will be spent at the local hotel. (B/L/D)

Day 10. Choibalsan - Undurkhaan 325km

You will be driven to Undurkhaan city after breakfast. We will visit an ethnographical museum in the city. The night will be spent at the camp ‘Undurkhaan’ (B/L/D)

Day 11. Undurkhaan - Khuduu aral 135km

You will be driven to Khuduu aral. Khuduu Aral is the place that The Secret History of Mongols was written in 1240. And archeologist found the ruins of the ancient city, Aurag, near Huduu Aral. After lunch in a Huduu Aral Ger camp, you can explore the Chinggis Khaan monument and the ruins of Aurag city. You can also find the natural spring near the ruins of Aurag city, which locals believed that Chinggis Khaan and his warriors used to drink from. You will stay overnight at the tourist camp. (B/L/D)

Day 12. Khuduu aral - Gun galuut 80km

You will be driven to Gun Galuut Nature Reserve. You will have lunch at the camp. Horse riding and bird watching is available near the lakes Ikh-Gun and Ayaga. Watch for White cranes, Swan geese, Whooper swans and other birds. On the way back we will visit a nomadic family, taste airag and have lunch with the family. The night will be spent in the camp. Day 13.  Hustain Nuruu National Park 270km

You will be driven back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will visit Tsonjin Boldog to see the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue Complex which is situated 54 km from Ulaanbaatar, on the bank of the Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog, where according to legend, he found a golden whip. It is a 40m tall statue of Chinggis Khaan on horseback, holding a golden whip that he is symbolically pointing east, towards his birthplace. A visitor center with 36 columns representing the 36 different kings of lineal descent from Chinggis Khaan. Visitors can walk to the head of the horse through its chest and neck, where they can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. A 9 meters tall traditional boot, which is considered as the biggest in the world, and a golden whip are displayed. You will check-in the hotel and stay in Ulaanbaatar for the night. (B/L/D)

Day 14. Ulaanbaatar / Departure

You will have breakfast at the hotel and will be transferred to the railway station or the airport for international departure. (B)
